It’s Good To Know Who You Are!
Energetically, that is To know your energy pattern is a great step in achieving an evolving state of health So what dominant energy pattern combinations are you, Vata, Pitta, and Kapha?
There are all kinds of personality tests out there to help define who we are, but there is no substitute of knowing who we are from an energy science view
The reason for this is actually quite simple An energy science view gives us in a snapshot who we are from a mindbody(fancy term often used here is psycho{mind}physiologic{body}) makeup, not just a mind view or personality test
This completeness of descriptives is very complete and helps us understand when we're out of balance
That is, it becomes a magnificent tool for witnessing Of course, the value here is that by witnessing we can become actively participatory in our monitoring and healing
It gives us responsibility in our healing We are not so tethered to this way or that; we become empowered to take on this healing and nutritional thing
But what, there's even more! When we get to know ourselves as combinations of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, we get to then know others as the same energy patterns
So we know others better as well And here's the clincher – it allows us to become more compassionate of others because we know they are going through the same work of clearing their imbalances as we are
Do you know whether you are PV, PK or VK(unusual)? If you do, have you found that eating according to your mindbody makeup is a good thing? Have you noticed it's easier to understand others, particualarly family, when using the energy science patterns?

How Do We Know We’re in Balance?
Balance is what we all want in life but this concept takes on special meaning from an energy science nutritional point of view
The first thing to realize that health is not something we get but what we work at by maintaining balance
One who is established in witnessing(meditation aids this)
whose energy patterns are in balance(nutritional work does this)
whose appetite is balanced(not too strong and not too variable or weak
whose tissues are functioning normally(digestive fire accomplishes this)
whose wastes are eliminated properly(nutritional work and lifestyle choices do this)
and whose self, mind, and senses remain full of bliss(all of the above do this)
is called a healthy person.
That seems like a tall order but it really isn't All we have to do is follow these simple guidelines:
Eat according to the nutritional format that is appropriate for you See foodsheal.com
Avoid poor food combining See foodsheal.com
Maintain a healthy digestive fire See foodsheal.com
Exercise regularly according to your mindbody makeup
Meditate What on earth does that have to do with nutrition?
These simple guidelines may be out of your comfort zone but I guarantee that if you do them balance will be yours
So the question is on the table, "How do we know we're in balance?" The answer is that we don't We just do the above work and the above automatically happens
Does this sound impossible?(Hint: try small steps) Do you think health is just a given? How does this fit with your definition of health? Do you know how to meditate?

A Day in the Life of the Energy Field
A physician is obligated to consider more than a diseased organ, more even than the whole man – he must view the man in his world Harvey Cushing, MD 1910
I've talked a lot about the value of a nutritional system but what does this mean, really?
Simply put, a system of nutrition must demonstrate our intimate relationship with Nature herself:
1 It should be based on the rhythms of Nature
2 It should be grounded on the intimacy that we share with the greater energy field(for example, Vata Pitta and Kapha and their physiological vibrational frequencies are expressions of the greater energy field)
3 By being entrenched in such a system, we automatically become healthy as a side effect
The current health system of thinking disengages us from Nature, intellectualizing our health by studying the molecular world And there's nothing wrong with studying the action of molecules but it creates for us tunnel vision and a biological model that limits us
Why should we insist that our nutritional system tangle us up with Nature? Because we are part of Nature Try to step out of Nature, right now
The energy patterns of Vata Pitta and Kapha are ubiquitous in Nature We observe Kapha dogs, Vata hummingbirds, Pitta lions These energy patterns are involved also in how we view time
Between 6am and 10am is a Kapha time heavy, cold, slow/dull time; ? heavy breakfast
Between 10am and 2pm is a Pitta time hot,sharp/penetrating time; best for day's big meal
Between 2pm and 6pm is a Vata time cold, light, mobile; good for activity
Between 6pm and 10pm is a Kapha time heavy,cold,slow/dull time; good for winding down
Between 10pm and 2am is a Pitta time hot, sharp/penetrating time; body detox time
Between 2am and 6am is a Vata time cold, light, mobile; emotional detox time
These vibrational frequencies that are bolded are most prominent in Nature's physiology but we mirror them ourselves physiologically as well
Do you notice that you are hungry around noontime and late at night? Do you eat breakfast at times when you are really not hungry? Do you feel sharpest in the afternoon when working on projects?

Nutritional Freak Out
Are we painting ourselves into a nutritional corner?
Gluten intolerance!
Dairy or lactose intolerance!
Chemical toxins with our food GMO's!
It is known that there are those on the planet who can take strychnine and not die
How can that happen?
The answer is digestive fire As we have written in the past, digestive fire, the enzyme system of the mindbody that transforms things into us has the capability to digest anything, including toxins
I believe that the vast majority of "food allergies" are actually a result of impairment of digestive fire
I don't discount that people have reactions to certain foods but it occurs due to the lack of adequate digestion strength
So I think we should rethink how we view our nutritional environment before we paint ourselves into a nutritional corner, where we our food selections will be hampered
Do you have a food allergy? Do you think that it could be related to poor digestion? Have you ever tried to improve your digestion?

Fasting
OK, OK, life is here to enjoy
So what's this stuff about fasting? "Don't take the pleasure out of life!", we say
But what if I were to promise you, better yet, guarantee you, you would feel better if you improved your digestive fire?
As we have dialogued about in the past, there are three things that you can do to improve your nutrition
1 Eat according to your nutritional format See foodsheal.com
2 Avoid poor food combining See foodsheal.com
3 Optimize our nutritional health through digestive fire
One of the best ways to enhance digestive fire is through the "F" word
But wait Before you leave, fasting doesn't have to be no food It can take on many different forms
1 Simple juices for twenty four hours according to our mindbody makeup
2 Kitchari for twenty four hours
3 Simple fruits for twenty four hours according to our mindbody makeup
4 Just water for twenty four hours UGH!
I think we can get the idea that fasting is about giving our digestive systems a day off for a job well done
The value here is that it creates a stronger digestive fire for the next "real" meal after the fast
But hold on! There's more By fasting, that simple act enhances ALL the enzyme systems in the mindbody Now that's really incredible because it improves tissue health
PV should fast 1-2x/month and PK 1x/week
Can I talk you into deciding on one day this week where you'll try the "F" word? Is it scary? Is it out of your comfort zone? Sure it is but try it anyway
