Dr Oz’s Colonic Polyp

In September of 2010 medical talk show celebrity Dr Mehmet Oz was found to have a colonic polyp  Since polyps can be premalignant Mehmet was shocked(healthy guy who tries to be healthy by matter science standards) and understandably grateful that his profession prevented a possible malignancy from occurring

It was heralded as a significant event not only as colon cancer prevention but once again showed the matter science medical model's authentic value at finding disease in it's earliest stage

Screening Works

We may remember another celeb then President Ronald Reagan's colonic history in the 1980's  He showed a couple of polyps in 1984 and 1985 which were removed with screening endoscopy

But then a muscle invading tumor in the cecum was removed in July 1985 after the polyp was removed in March 1985

Thereafter Reagan had no recurrence of polyps  Screening colonoscopies have had an unprecedented impact on the late stages of colonic cancer just as PSA has had an impact on the discovery of prostate malignancies

Bad Luck Or Something Else

How do healthy guys like Oz and Reagan come up with colonic polyps?

"Heck everybody is going to get their turn  Something's bound to turn up"  The natural "bad luck" response would be appropriate to engage  And even the energy science medical model would not dispute that sometimes predisposition to disease can happen

But the energy science medical model would also say that nutritional choices have to be factored into the causes of poor bowel health including the occurrences of polyp disease

Early Detection Versus Prevention

The article mentioned above ends with hoping for a "Dr Oz Effect", the author suggesting that screening colonoscopies are the panacea to preventing  colon cancer

But is this really prevention?

Prevention implies that by so doing a test or procedure we prevent disease  I don't think even MD's believe that  Prevention from the matter science medical model can at best do early detection

The reason for this is that the biologic matter science model doesn't deal with the origins of disease  Researchers believe that they get close with the understanding of molecular biochemistry but in the end their biologic model will never be able to get to the origin of diseases

The energy science medical model deals with the origin of disease which occurs at the level of the GI tract and 4 stages before it becomes manifest as a polyp in Dr Oz and Reagan's colon

My Plate – The Nutritional Mainstream

The USDA recently revamped the public nutritional roadmap replacing the much maligned pyramid with a plate

And while the plate removes some criticisms about the pyrimid it still raises in my mind the efficacy of  nutritional advice in general

The Need for a Standard

Throughout human history there has always been the need to create standards by which a group operates whether it be nutritional science or any science for that matter 

The standard creation allows us to move along and build on our past data base

No doubt the well meaning need for a standard in nutrition for its citizens provided by the government agencies is helps the question is whether it adds anything to our current knowledge base

Or is it the same food just served up with a different appearance?

Information In  Information Out

The current system of nutrition on which we premise our information sees the mindbody and  the foods we ingest as molecular or matter based

In order for us to make any meaningful movement toward a better nutritional system of health is to try to explore other ways of seeing biological systems

Otherwise it's just business as usual  The same information with the same spin  Nothing new  Samo  Samo

If we keep looking at the biological world as molecular then we'll get molecular answers

It's the 21st Century Folks!

Hello!  One hundred years ago Einstein said E=mc2 yet our current biological model and its proponents insist on this current matter science biological model that continues to look at the foods that it consumes as molecular as well

Just as physics was stuck in Newtonian thinking in the 19th century until Einstein and a cohort of pioneers brought us forward out of medieval physics thinking, our current biological model is woefully stuck in 20th century thinking utilizing its matter science moleuclar thinking

It's time for us to move our biological model into the 21st century into a way of seeing ourselves as energy fields as well as matter fields

The rehashing of a moelcular nutritional model is not an advancement of knowledge but rather the establishment of the status quo

Of course just becasue a standard is written for the citizens by a government agency means anything

The Price of Fast Food

An infographic that appeared recently shows the tremendous growth that has been going on over the last 50 years

It's interesting for a number of reasons but to me the most salient aspect is that fast is getting faster

Movement Is IN

The term "fast food" actually says it all  We are "on the run"  and need that food FAST

The visual I like is the runner in some form of race cruising by the water station, handed a paper cup of water  It's enough to wet the mouth  He quickly downs the water, throws the crumpled cup on the ground amidst all it predecessors, and moves on down the road FAST

Now move to the kitchen  Mom brings in the pizza that she just bought at the pizza station  The family members quickly down the calories, burp, and move on to evening activities FAST

The Energy Science Qualities of FAST

FAST has the qualities of cold, light, movement, rough, subtle, and clear

To counteract these vibrational frequencies we look for hot, heavy, stable, oily, gross, and cloudy  These qualities are found in fast foods in the form or sweet, sour, and salty tastes

Unfortunately these qualities bring about imbalances in 80% of us when consumed on a regular basis and those that could should do 1-2 times per week

 The Consumer NOT the Food

The energy science nutritional model tells us that it's the one consuming the foods that causes the weight gain NOT the food 

If the qualities of the foods are not conducive to the person's mindbody makeup then imbalance results

How to Cultivate Great Digestion Like a Teenager

"I can eat anything and as much as I want  NO problem!"

We may have heard friends when we were young relate that they had the proverbial "cast iron stomach"

But Wait!

Our friend, we should say, COULD eat anything but as the years go by the "cast iron stomach" melts

There occurs days of reckoning where what once was strong digestion is no longer the case

Nature catches up eventually and the good ole days are of the past  The mindbody and its digestion can no longer handle the abuse

Cast Iron Redefined

What happened?  How does the mindbody capitulate to what's being done to it?

We won't find the answer from the current matter science medical model since its concept of digestion is molecular

But the energy science medical model has a lot to say about digestion since it is the key to optimal health

"What?"  From an energy science view how we chose and handle our external environment(foods) is predictive of our health  Makes sense, doesn't it?  If we ingest foods or experiences that don't bring about balance and disrupts digestion(chocolate or divorce or a debilitating relationship), then eventually our mindbody system becomes weaker and our health suffers

Sooo...my friends our friend back in our teenage years was indeed able to devour anything and not be affected

Why?  His digestive fire was "over the top" with so much power that the furnace would burn any and everything

Sweetness and Acid Indigestion

If we're really hungry, so hungry that we'll just about eat anything, there is nothing better than the sweet taste  Reach for the Snickers or any refined sugar and whew! relief

Some of us may not have experienced this kind of appetite but I bring this up because from an energy science nutritional view it shows how the qualities of hot and cold work

Hot and Hungry

The appetite carries the hot quality  When we get hungry from an energy science view our GI tract is hot and ready for the experience of food and the mindbody says, "Feed me, feed me!"

If the mindbody and the GI tract is more in balance, there is not this raging appetite that can't wait but when the Pitta energy pattern is out of balance, the hot appetite is the result

This qualitative or energetic expression of appetite can be quite helpful for some when confronted with trying to curb appetite that gets out of control and results in overeating

The Cold of Sweetness

As I said earlier our ally to this hot quality is the vibrational frequency pattern of sweet

This is because this pattern has the cold quality  This counteracts the hot and calms the mindbody physiology 

The sweet taste is found in dairy, lean meats,  grains, and unrefined sugars such as turbinado and sucanat 

Foods as Medications

When the excess hot quality becomes over the top in the GI tract symptoms such as diarrhea, hemmorrhoids, and acid indigestion with gastroesophageal reflux can occur

A recent study from a gastroenterology unit in France recently reported that surgery and pills were equally effective in dealing with gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD)

That's a nice observation but my question is, "What about staying away from the hot quality carried by foods that have the sour and salty tastes and continually provoke the stomach in the first place?"

Misled By an Incomplete Biological Model

If we continue believing that we are a collection of molecules then we will come up with such studies that deliver mechanical or pharma solutions for our problems

But if we entertan a more complete way of seeing ourselves as energy fields as well, then we can consider the above solution to GERD, namely staying away from the complex energy patterns of sour and salty

We can go a long way toward creating a healthier GI tract by choosing foods that bring us balance

Whether we experience GERD really doesn't matter  The challenge for all of us as we move through life is to cultivate balance
