Can Foods Make Us Sick?
I think we have all had the experience of not feeling real great and not knowing why Or perhaps not feeling so great and realizing that it's related to what we ate
"Of course foods can make us sick!" we say There is so much evidence now from the matter science nutritional model from so many studies that foods can affect us in adverse ways This can be particularly relevant around the holidays due to the presence of foods that can adversely effect us
Unfriendly Foods
Here's an incomplete list
Refined sugar eg candy in all its forms, chocolate(sugar camoflaged with chocolate)
White flour eg pastries in most forms, most breads
Carbonated drinks aka refined sugar with fizziness
In addition from an energy science nutritional view
Foods incompatable for our unique body makeup
Foods incompatable with one another(eg fruit with other foood, beans with cheese and meat)
The confusing thing is that many people including perhaps ourselves don't get sick from these lists as above What gives?
The Role of Digestive Fire
The answer is digestive fire If we have various levels of digestive strength or power then we can stave off feeling poorly, at least for a little while
But like any fire in Nature, if we continue to abuse it the ramifications are certain We will begin to feel poorly So it's not just one or two days of abusive food selections, but multiple days in a row
Soon the fire becomes dimmed with all the wet logs that we have place on it and when that happens symptoms are sure to come our way
So at times people may find that exercising during the holidays helps them feel better Why? Exercise stokes digestive fire and we hold off the ravages of feeling poorly
Choice
In the end this information is to not as much forbid us from the foods that make us sick but rather make us better observers of the process of nutrition and allow us to make better choices in the future if we so choose
It hinges on seeing that foods can physiologically make us feel poorly and that we have within our grasp the ability to change that very fact about our nutrition
