Champions Of The Family
I'd like to pose a question Why is it that families have different habits?
Some families stay up late at night; others tend to retire early Some families eat the biggest meal at noon while others eat late at night
Who establishes these patterns or habits of behavior?
As Tevye danced and sang in Fiddler, "Tradition"
It's family custom and these patterns are that which produce our approaches to health as we move along in life Habits that are established very early in our lives And I would suggest some that are not so good and others excellent
Doing nutrition in a different way requires a lifestyle change that the family may have to buy into
Since this kind of change is the hardest thing we do, at times we need others to help show us the way
I know in my own family the lifestyle choices that I choose around nutrition are not those that the rest of the family would choose but by and by through simple example, choices change
The key here is that the change resides in me No one else And I have no expectations of others
I believe that every family needs a champion who leads by example and serves as a nutritional visionary so to speak One who says quietly to herself, "I want better nutritional health for myself and for my family"
A simple thing like using a churan can be done No preaching, demanding, urging, coercion, cajoling "Just do it!," as the commercial says Leading by example, by action

Since Kapha, the energy pattern of stability, is closest to the matter field expression of the mindbody, it exhibits many qualities that we sense with touch, taste, and smell which are the grounding senses of our experience of the world

When we experience the infinite creativity that Vata expresses through her mobility, the focus and intensity of Pitta, and the love, elegance, and grace of Kapha then we see ourselves as divine
So these energy patterns hold up the standard which we strive for in our search for balance

Pitta is the energy of transformation and its qualities are hot, sharp/penetrating, light, mobile, liquid, and oily
