MOVE

Mary came back in followup after having done the nutritional format for PK and felt great

"And in the last six weeks I've lost fifteen pounds!"

"That's good Mary but remember that most if not all of that weight is fluid not tissue weight. You will reach a plateau soon and then the real work begins."

From an energy view the energy pattern responsible for obesity is the pattern of stability, Kapha Because this has become such a pervasive issue in our community it's a problem that needs discussion

In a previous blog we talked about some solutions for Kapha imbalance that can be used but today want to point out that MOVE takes care of many of the imbalances that we see in unbalanced clinical Kapha situations

The qualities involved are cold, slow/ dull, static, heavy, dense, hard, smooth/slimy(mucous), oily, soft(emotional), liquid, gross, and cloudy

MOVE increases the hot and mobility qualities that counter the cold, slow/dull, static, heavy and dense.

Tips for MOVE

1 Wake up before 0600 in the morning We should make a deal to set that alarm and get out of bed

2 Walk briskly after awakening and brushing teeth

3 Drink breakfast without a lot of solid food and consider evening meal smaller than noon meal

4 Biggest meal at noon with two handfuls(use a rice bowl for measuring amount)

5 Use of a PK churan with meals

6 Only eat at breakfast lunch and dinner

7 No excessive drinking of fluids (maximum volume 40-50oz)

8 Be aware of moving the body during the day

9 Be aware of your responses to food through sight, smell, and smell

        10 Bedtime 2300(11pm)

11 Consistency is the key realizing that this is about lifestyle behaviors not weight

12 Ask for support to help in this new approach

Do you think that these suggestions can be implemented? What have you tried that has worked for you for weight loss? Let me know as I would like to hear from you

An Antiinflammatory Cocktail

  Bigstock_Man_With_Huge_Water_Bottle_1999993

It's summer and global warming A setup for Pitta provocation or buildup

The Pitta energy pattern has the qualities of hot, sharp, light, liquid, mobile and oily

Along with the other two energy patterns Vata and Kapha they sustain not only our own mindbody biologic energy fields but the universe as well

The universal energy field has these same qualities of hot, sharp, light, liquid, mobile and oily but the energy of transformation is the only one of the three energy patterns that has the hot vibrational frequency Makes sense doesn't it? HOT transforms Right? Burning wood, burning thoughts, burning stomach Holy smoke Burned up relationships!

So when it's hot in the environment the same hot is aggravated in our own mindbody energy field

But that hot from the sun is never as longterm provoking as the hot that we ingest As we discussed yesterday in 35 days consumption of the vibrational frequency has a much longer staying power of influence

What happens when too much hot is in the energy physiology? You guessed it! INFLAMMATION

Particularly during the summer months doing something on a regular basis to reduce the hot quality is of great value to us

Sooo…. here's a recipe for a delicious cooling herbal cocktail we may find valuable

2T of aloe vera gel(NOT the juice)

        2oz of pomegranite juice

        2oz of water

        Chug a lug! Hmmmm delissios

Here's to cooling off  See ya tomorrow                   To health as a Skill  Love DrBill

Thirty five days

  Bigstock_Number___7584401

Let's say we're Pitta Vata by energy pattern and go off on a salsa orgy with corn, tomato, and raw onion

The effects of the orgy are present for thirty five days

From an energy view the body has to deal with the effects of the unbalancing effects of the ingestion And the effects of the incident may last for up to 35 days in the physiology as the effects percolate through the tissue layers of the mindbody

To reduce the impact of such orgies we can maintain a strong digestive fire

Here are some tips to improve digestive fire

        1 Exercise

2 Use of a churan with food

3 Eating our biggest meal at noon

4 Use two handfuls as a guide as to how much to eat

        5 Reduce snacking

        6 Drink room temperature fluids

7 Juice fast one day per week

Mobility and Change

  Bigstock_Mobil_Phones_-_Hands_And_Phone_4845394

Yesterday we talked about change and that it is a stumbling block for many because of the fear that lines the decision to do something differently, eg nutrition

Let's look at change now from an energy view, from the view of biologic vibrational frequencies

Mobility and change are simultaneoulsly one The opposite is static or in general resistance to change When in balance we are more likely to embrace change unless there is fear(see below)

Fortunately all of us have the vibrational frequency of mobility and this helps us move off center to try new things out Our responses certainly vary for two reasons

1 Energy pattern variation and amount of mobility

So a Pitta/Vata(PV or VP) would have have alot of mobility because both these two energy patterns have mobility as a quality but Pitta/Kapha(PK or KP) would have less because of Kapha's static quality

Hence given everything equal Pitta/Vata likes change more so than Kapha/Pitta This explains the not infrequent observation that KP is slow to take on change

2 Reaction to change (FEAR) occurs due to imbalance(too much static quality) and/or stagnant energy

As we talked yesterday when up against it and imbalanced we will react to change by fight, flight, inertia, or combinations

And these reactions will look differently based on who we are If PV there will be impatience for not seeing the results fast enough For VP there will be abandonment of the change quickly because of randomness

PK will boil like water, upset all the time and bitching all the way or stubborn KP will yawn and become passive or stubborn

Understanding these patterns of lifestyle behavior help us witness ourselves in action when we are resisting change

We will not have a chance against our resistance to the everchanging unless we have an ability to be aware of our own reactions

Behavioral Change and Energy Science Nutrition

  Bigstock_Change_6084877

My wife and I were talking about her dance classes She has been telling me for some time now how her dance teacher just sends her through the roof because of his "criticism"

Taken from an energy view what's happening? The energy of transformation, Pitta, is being expressed in the human behavioral form of "Let's progress and change from one state to another" that is let's change from one level of dance performance to another level, that is, let's undergo personally transformation

Oh, so transformation means change? So any change that we want to see in ourselves, in others, or in the world is being pushed along by the energy pattern Pitta Or biologically any transformation in the mindbody is done by this energy pattern Pitta

Pitta = Change  Strong human biological Pitta energy fields like to see change in their world

Now leaving aside how the teacher does the teaching, a teacher is a change artist She brings her students along and when they leave they are transformed by her They are different than when they met her

OK, but what about our reaction to change? Well there can be acceptance(I have to do this diet to lose weight Kapha reaction); flight(run away Vata reaction – I dont have time or this isn't happening fast enough – impatience); fight(upset and angry reaction Pitta reaction – Im very upset about having to do this and I don't see a good reason for it!)

Our combined reactions

VP: This is very irritating and I'm going to quit and find another teacher I'll show him

PV: I'm very irritated and I'm going to scream at my teacher because he's unfair That SOB!

PK: This is very irritating but I'll hang in there to the bitter end When is this going to end?

KP: This is very irritating and if it happens, it happens (yawn)

Balanced: I have the intent, I'm patient, and am waiting for it to manifest

Which one fits you? Or do you see other combo reactions here that you use when confronted with change?

Bottom line:  We will not solve our problems around nutrition until we understand our reactions to change

Tomorrow: Change and the vibrational frequency of mobility
