Nutritional Cultural Miscues
Often cultural cuisines carry nutritional miscues that energetically effect health The energy science nutritional model can help us sort out how to avoid these miscues
Cultural Nutritional Problems
Here are some examples, see if you can pick out the culture from which they come(hint could be more than one culture)
Heavy reliance of tomatoes
Heavy use of cheeses
Cooked honey in pastry
Poor food combinations such as beans with cheese and meat, eggs with cheese and meat, fruit with any other food, potato with dairy
These are just examples of cultural leftovers(no pun intended) which can lead to poor health
Ongoing Perpetuation of Cultural Poor Health
A culture is our extended family and we can become quite emotionally tied to it Witness the nationalistic fervor now being exhibited(actually just a sophisticated form of tribalism)
But we intuitively know that we can pick up some not so good health habits from our immediate family of origin and the same is true I would submit from our extended family
Our cultural planetary populations are becoming merged and there is no more apparent place for making this observation than in the US We have long been known as the "melting pot" and our population is clearly heterogenous
Universal Health of the Planet
But if we step back and understand the inherent health problems by perpetuating these nutritonal miscues then we can improve not only our own health but the health of our extended family
An oft quoted Gandhi phrase, "Be the change you want to see in the world" applies here because by changing the way we do our lifestyles is mirrored not only in our immediate family but also to our extended family
What Can We Do?
Guided by the energy science nutritional approach there are many things we can do to change our personal health but by example our global health
Eat food according to your nutritional format (Vata, Pitta, Kapha)
Avoid poor food combining
Enhance digestive fire to "burn off mistakes or miscues"
